It comes from the fringes by smaller, innovative companies who rely on agility, narrow target markets and a focused product. Quire’s Strength? Continually improving our niche software more quickly than our competitors, using customer feedback as our starting point.  A disruptive innovation is an innovation that creates a new market and value network and eventually disrupts an existing market and value network, thus displacing established market leading firms, products and alliances.   There are three main reasons why Quire has made such inroads into the technical report writing arena: size, agility and our direct feedback pipeline. **Size:** Larger companies often manage multiple divisions and product lines. This diversity may help overall profitability, but it’s difficult to be the best at everything you do. Smaller companies, like Quire, focus on a single core competency allowing total investment and hyper-focus on building the best software on the market. It also allows Quire to provide an industry-shaking pricing model based on subscriptions rather than per unit pricing. **Agility:** The Quire platform is built from the ground up using modern software development methodologies (including Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration). Adding, updating and improving existing features is faster because we’re able to deploy changes the moment they’re ready for use. **Direct Feedback Pipeline:** Our customers are the biggest driver of our development schedule and it shows, both in customer satisfaction and in low customer support tickets. High retention rates and a lower overhead continue to fuel innovation which, in turn, increases growth. Additionally, no member of the team is far removed from either the product or customer. So feedback is not only relevant, but in real time. Using these three advantages in combination, a slew of useful updates and features were created that larger competitors simply couldn’t match. Not only were the features more useful, they were also provided on a much faster time scale. Following this model, Quire is attractive to both the existing target market, those who are using the competitor’s software, as well as the emerging market and those using antiquated desktop software. In short, limited resources can actually be your greatest asset to disruptive innovation.
